Hair sets for sale

Rocking horse hair sets have 3 matching pieces -tail, mane and forelock, all are horse hair on hide, single pieces - no bonded and glued bunches. The pieces are matched as well as I can but the colours are always somewhat variable, within and between the pieces.

Post and packing has to be added to the prices below. Small parcels under 2k sent 2nd signed for are £ 6. High value sets are sent special delivery next day so they are fully insured - £ 11 for up to 1k.

Sets come with fitting instructions and fixings suitable for WOODEN horses.

Hair sets on hide are very hard to fit to fibre glass horses so please phone if you want to try this.

The sets are not suitable for modern ( or poorly restored ) horses which have a SLOT cut in the neck. Not to be confused with the shallow groove that many old horses have. The stiff hide base of the mane is too wide to fit into slots.

This set ( ref S212C) is a mixed chestnut colour.

The tail length is 37", the mane base length 10 1/2" and the mane hair at the long end is 31".

The hair can be trimmed when fitted to the horse if wanted.

The hair should fit a horse about 40 - 46" high.
